The Peace Country Land Settlement Database Project Presentation

Grande Prairie Museum Meeting Room.
 

The database, initiated and partially funded by the PCHS contains over 30,000 applications for Crown land, homesteads, and other lands by settlers in the Peace Country. The information will be of interest to people looking for ancestors or seeking to understand settlement patterns.

Heritage Fair

The Heritage Fair has been CANCELLED for 2020

What is the Heritage Fair? It is an opportunity for grades 4 to 9 students to express their creativity in a variety of forms on Canadian history. The project may be a school project or a personal project. The focus is on developing your personal and interpersonal skills. It is a learning opportunity.

Film Night

The Peace Country Historical Society  invites you to attend the showing of this historical film, produced in 1958 by the Nation Film Board of Canada. The film promoted the prosperous development of agriculture and industry in the peace country and gives "a tribute to the pioneer spirit which still finds scope in our northern settlement."
